In 3 months, have real conversations in French and finally feel at home
I match you with a French language partner who becomes a friend, so you stop feeling like a guest in your own life in France.
Most English expats wait too long
Start making French friends before you move
You’re buying a house in France. You’ve dreamed about this for years: the light, the markets, the slower pace, the neighbours…
And somewhere, quietly, there’s this thought: will my French be good enough?
It’s a fair question.
Christopher moved to France 13 years ago. He has an MBA. He’s highly articulate in English. Today, he still says: « I feel like an idiot in French. »
Vicki married a French man and moved to Brittany. When they have people over, she plays bartender. « It’s exhausting, » she says. « It’s exhausting. »
David has been in the South of France for nearly a decade. « I just want to be a normal guy, having normal conversations. »
None of them lacked intelligence. None of them lacked effort. They just never had the right method.
You don’t have to become them. You’re starting now. That’s your advantage.
For those who want more than just a house in France
Imagine your life 6 months from now...
Your neighbour knocks on the door. You don’t turn around and go the other way.
The cashier asks you a question. You don’t freeze.
Someone starts speaking French and your brain doesn’t go: « hang on, stop, what is happening? » It just… responds.
You’re at a dinner party. You’re not the one hanging out in the background, quiet, expected not to join in. You’re in the middle of the conversation — slow and clunky is gone. The words come.
You know what you want to say. And this time, it comes out.
You’re not the English one who’s been here for years and still can’t speak French. You’re not scared of judgment anymore. You’re not doing a literal translation in your head. You’re not play-acting.
You sound like yourself.
That’s not a fantasy. That’s what happens when you stop waiting.
Right now, you might be telling yourself you’ll start properly once you’re there. Once you’re settled. Once life slows down a little.
But the expats who feel at home in France didn’t wait. They started building their French life before they even packed a box.
And it didn’t start with a textbook or a French class.
The fastest way to really speak French isn't a course or an app. It's a real friendship with a native speaker who wants to learn English from you.
How?
Pillar 1: Learn how to learn French
Instead of giving you a textbook or just chatting,
I show you how your brain works so you will never take a French class again
I teach you how to create a French environment to ensure French becomes a natural part of your day
We find resources that you care about so you’re having fun and it’s not a chore on your to-do list.
Pillar 2: Make a French Friend
This is what makes LanguageMate unique.
I pair you with a French Native Speaker specifically trained in my method.
You learn how to have « deep conversations »—the kind that build real friendships and professional respect—rather than just practicing grammar drills.
Pillar 3: Make habits stick
You don’t become fluent through willpower. You become fluent through daily habits that don’t feel like work.

I’m your language mentor, on a mission to help you speak with confidence.
Céline Guerreiro
Hi, I’m Céline Guerreiro, the founder of LanguageMate.
I’m a language mentor.
🎯 𝗠𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲: 19+ years in education, trained in Montessori and neuroscience, truly passionate about learning (I’ve been learning English for 5 years and Korean for a few months)
Before 2020, I couldn’t express myself in English, even though I studied English at school.
I felt dumb.
I decided to become fluent in English, but I didn’t want to rely on a teacher and feel like I was 15 again.
My degree in Neuroscience and my background in Montessori education allowed me to create my own method.
And by the way, I’ve been learning English in France without ever living abroad, attending courses or paying for teachers.
In January 2023, I founded LanguageMate, so you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Your French life starts here
The 3-Month Immersion: 1900€
For those who need to move fast and can’t afford to wait.
This is the option for people with a real deadline: a move to France coming up, a visa renewal, a residency card to obtain, or a life in France that’s waiting to start. You’ve already bought the house, or you’re about to sign. You don’t have months to figure it out alone. You need someone who guides you, validates your approach, and adjusts in real time, week after week, until your French clicks.
- 10 Strategy & Pedagogy sessions: eight one-hour sessions live with me to transform your learning habits, build your own roadmap and learn how to learn, plus two hours where I analyse the recording of your real conversations in depth to show you exactly what to improve. It’s in these sessions, both live and in my analysis, that I confirm week after week that your method is solid.
- Lifetime Community Access: unlimited, lifelong access to the LanguageMate community, so you stay surrounded by other learners and keep your momentum long after the three months.
- Unlimited practice hours with your language partners to stop feeling self-conscious every time you open your mouth, express your emotions freely, and finally sound like yourself (at least one hour per week on video call and one sentence per day on WhatsApp).
- A Guided Path, One Tiny Experiment at a Time: instead of dropping a huge library on you and wishing you luck, your plan opens up step by step, in sync with your cohort. Each week you run one small, doable experiment, like living inside French podcasts for two weeks. Then we look at your own data together, keep what worked for you and drop what didn’t. You always know exactly what to do next, and why.
- Accountability partner: you’re never stuck. I’m there with you every day (Monday–Friday) to answer your questions and help you keep strong momentum.
- Weekly group sessions: Four live video meetings each week to apply the method, ask your questions, and learn how to give and receive feedback with your language partner.
- Quality feedback, for you and your partner: I train both of you, you and your language partner, to give each other quality feedback, because good feedback changes everything in your progress. During the first few weeks, I’m right there in your WhatsApp group to follow your exchanges and guide you in real time. You’ll also send me the recording of one of your video calls so I can analyse it in depth and show you exactly what to improve.
Before you join, we'll have a short conversation. LanguageMate is built around real human relationships and I want to make sure you understand how it works before you commit to the preparation journey. Your future language partner is counting on your seriousness as much as you're counting on theirs. If we're not a fit, I'll tell you honestly and point you somewhere that might serve you better.
The "Perfect Match" Guarantee
The Promise:
I personally select your French friend based on your personality, your interests, your goals, and your level. This isn’t a random pairing.
During your first weeks together, I stay close. I’m in the WhatsApp group with you, I watch a recording of one of your video calls, and I make sure the feedback you’re giving each other is genuinely helping you both progress.
If after your first month together you don’t feel the connection is right, I’ll find you a better match.
Three cohorts a year
I open three cohorts a year, and every single time the whole group begins on the same day, which builds real momentum: you move forward together, cheer each other on, and stay consistent because everyone else is right there with you.
Each cohort runs for a full three months.
Next cohorts:
- September 14 to December 18, 2026 with a one-week break from October 19 to 24
- January 11 to April 18, 2027 with a one-week break from February 15 to 20
- April 26 to July 26, 2027
From one year to the next these dates stay almost identical, give or take a few days, so you can plan your progress well ahead and book the session that suits you best right now.
I’m fully available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and available for 2 hours on Saturdays.
Each cohort is capped at just ten learners, five French speakers and five English speakers, so everyone gets truly personalised support and the exchange stays perfectly balanced.
Cynthia's testimonial
« I highly recommend Céline if you’re looking to improve your fluency in French.
I had studied 5 years of French when I was a student but hadn’t used it in 30 years when I decided I wanted to restart my studies.
The method of teaching foreign language when I was a student was grammar based and focused on memorization but even after years of study I wasn’t fluent.
Céline’s Montessori approach plus her knowledge of neuroscience have proven to be excellent at getting me back on the path towards fluency.
Having Céline to practice speaking and writing with along with the native speaking language partner she pairs you with have been invaluable in improving my French.
Her advice on ways to immerse yourself in the language are also critical to getting back in practice and improving comprehension.
I am so glad I decided to work with her and I’m looking forward to practicing my French the next time I visit. »
Marie's testimonial
I currently have the pleasure of working closely with Céline Guerreiro as her student, and I can confidently say she is an outstanding professional and an excellent teacher.
Céline’s ability to creatively and precisely tackle the complex challenges her students experience in learning a new language is inspiring. She has a remarkable talent for helping American expats speak French fluently using the Montessori teaching method. What’s more, she consistently delivers results that meet and exceed expectations, instilling confidence in her students.
Céline’s dedication to her work is evident in everything she does. She is proactive, continually seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes that directly help her students. Her attention to detail ensures that nothing is overlooked. What truly sets her apart is her collaborative approach and excellent interpersonal skills, which make her a joy to work with and highly respected. Her proactive nature and her use of the Montessori Language Coaching Program will make you feel secure in her hands.
Whether you are learning because you will be positioned in France, have clients there, are planning a retirement there, or simply because you may enjoy traveling to the City of Light or elsewhere in France, I highly recommend Céline Guerreiro for helping you, someone you know or your staff who want to learn or refresh their knowledge of the French language. Her expertise, work ethic, and commitment to her students’ success are commendable.
Arnell achieved fluency in French and turned shame and embarrassment into pride and confidence!
« Before joining the Montessori language program, I wanted to improve my conversational French.
My previous learning experiences were more traditional, focusing on grammar and vocabulary using educational resources.
The program unlocked a more immersive French environment for me.
Engaging with podcasts, music, flashcards and reading materials in French has significantly enhanced my speaking, listening, and reading skills.
I feel much more confident speaking in French now.
The daily support and interaction have made a big difference and the continuous support is invaluable.
Every day, I send phrases to Céline and my language partner, Carole, and I always receive helpful feedback.
I appreciate my interactions with Céline and Carole because they help me overcome my shyness around native speakers, allowing me to engage more comfortably and confidently in conversations. »

Cross the gap between knowing French and being yourself in French
You’ve read this far because something resonated. Maybe it was Carrie avoiding her neighbours. Maybe it was Christopher feeling like an idiot after 13 years. Maybe it was just that quiet voice that says: I don’t want to still be here in five years, still not speaking French.
That’s enough. Let’s talk.
Book a free call and we’ll figure out together which option fits where you are right now. If we’re not the right fit, I’ll tell you honestly.
